Z4Root app takes away the brain scratching and makes rooting any droid as easy as "one, two, Z, four!"

Long ago are the days of searching the internet for recovery images, and how-to forums on how to root your Droid, Droid X, Facinate, Samsung Galaxy S, Droid 2, Xperia (unfortunately it can't do the Desire, or EVO yet). Moments after I rooted my droid x the long way, this app was released  and quickly taken off the market. This app doesn't do anything spectacular in itself, but it is the key to unlocking your phone so it can do all the fun things a rooted phone can do. I recommend you back up your phone with a simple backup app such as Mybackuppro. Also make sure to have a file manager installed if your phone doesn't come with a stock one. I recommend ES File Explorer. Download z4root.apk (see below) and use your file explorer to find the app (should be /sdcard/download/) and click the apk file. If this is your first non market app install your phone will ask you to allow non market apps before you can continue. It will take you to the page, just put a check in "allow non market installs." Once the app installs open it in your app drawer. The first time I ran the app it froze up on me. I just pulled the battery and turned the phone back on and tried again with success. It took no more than 2 minutes on my droid x.
